Sexuality: Asexual.

Appearance: The Brain Gremlin resembles others of his species in build; he’s a compact little creature, standing knee-high to an average adult, with squat legs and long arms. His skin is leathery, slightly mottled, lightly striped, and a dull green-brown---the exceptions being a tan chest, stomach, and ears. He has distinct ridges of small horns that begin where eyebrows would be and diminish as they curve to follow the shape of his face; these little horns reappear along the edge of his jaw, stopping about halfway down. These ridges are less noticeable or altogether absent in other gremlins.
He’s a sharp dresser, when he’s dressed, (favouring small, neat suits) but is never seen without his key accessory; a pair of gold-framed glasses, sized perfectly. Combined with an impish smile, (which is, one grants, full of sharp little teeth,) they aid the fellow in his charm.

Personality: Unlike others of his species, the Brain Gremlin is dapper and urbane. He’s content to discuss theatre, the stock market, or the political climate instead of attacking, preferring to leave wanton destruction in the claws of others. He insists that gremlins only want what humanity already has---civilization, with the niceties, the fine points. They may stumble along the way, but that’s only to be expected and forgiven. The Brain Gremlin is himself an example of this; he will occasionally do something destructive, without being provoked (such as shooting another gremlin) admitting that it was fun, but in no sense civilized. Driven in large part by his preoccupation with civilization and the processes in its development, his interests include politics, philosophy, and all aspects of culture.

Abilities/Weaponry: Gremlins are an incredibly hardy lot; one will continue to fight you even as its body is shred up to mid-torso. They have sharp teeth, strong jaws, long arms, and an impressive set of claws which come closer to talons. They are quite strong for their size, move quickly despite having such short legs, and climb almost anything with surprising speed and agility.
Of greater concern: Gremlins multiply when wet. If Mr.Glasses were to be caught out in the rain, thrown into a tub, or attacked with a spray bottle, Paixao could well be overrun.
Rarely is any gremlin armed. The Brain Gremlin carries a stolen revolver on his person.

Weaknesses: The Brain Gremlin is small and light, despite how tough he may be. As mentioned, he will begin to produce offspring if he’s exposed to water; they form very quickly, in blisters on the backs of adult gremlin, and it is only a matter of minutes until these burst and little growing gremlins are loosed upon the world. While the blisters and bastard children grow, the gremlin is almot immobile, sitting or standing and shaking. The process is painful for mogwais; it may or may not be the same case for gremlins.
Normally, sunlight also poses a problem for both species. However, Mr.Glasses spent some time in a laboratory with what he declared ‘genetic sun block’; one gremlin was dosed and ventured into the light of day immediately after. It was a stunning success. Such security is rarely encountered; ever the opportunist, the Brain Gremlin dosed himself, as well, in all probability.

History: Spawned on a set in the Clamp Center in New York when sprinklers were set off by a gremlin-related microwave fire, the Brain Gremlin was among other ordinary gremlins who, tired of breaking things on set, expanded and began to break things in a nearby genetics lab. It was in this lab that he came across a flask containing a hormone concoction influencing brain development, and quite deliberately drank the lot down. He had what appeared to be a brief seizure, and collapsed; moments later, he pulled himself upright, stating clearly that he would like to talk a little bit about what was going on in the room, as it held some interesting ramifications for the future.
Mr.Glasses, as he is known, had been born.
The next few hours were busy; he would make several calls from the Clamp office and damage stock hold, be interviewed live by one of the remaining Clamp Cable employees, and organize a mass of his fellows to march on the city by nightfall. They had only to wait for dark.
However, he would find himself at the edge of Paixao well before dusk.
